Death Toll From Ebola Outbreak In Drc Increases To 625 - Ministry

MOSCOW, July 10 (NNN-Sputnik/RIA Novosti) -- Death toll from the Ebola outbreak in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) has reached 625, the DRC Ministry of Communication and Media said, reported Sputnik/RIA Novosti.

"There are 1,792 confirmed cases, and 625 deaths," the ministry said in a statement.

The statement added that the number of recovered patients has reached 295.

At the same time, DRC Health Minister Roger Kamba said that the government has added the provinces of Tshopo and Haut-Uele to the list of those officially affected by the Ebola outbreak.

According to him, two cases have been identified in each of these provinces.

In May, the World Health Organisation declared the Ebola outbreak in the DRC and Uganda a public health emergency of international concern, saying the risk of the epidemic spreading across the region was high.
