Grandstand Collapses Before Show At French Castle,16 People Injured - Reports

MOSCOW, Aug 19 (NNN-Sputnik/RIA Novosti) -- A grandstand with spectators collapsed just before the start of a sound and light show at a castle in northwestern France, injuring 16 people, Sputnik/RIA Novosti reported on Wednesday, quoting French radio station Ici, which attributed the information to the local prefecture.

The incident occurred on Tuesday evening at the Bienassis castle, located in the commune of Erquy within the Cotes-d'Armor department. Around 100 people were in the grandstand at the time. Most of them sustained moderate injuries and received treatment on site, while five people were hospitalised, Ici reported.

The prosecutor's office launched an investigation into the incident.
