US Dollar Ticks Up

NEW YORK, Aug 27 (NNN-Xinhua) -- The US dollar advanced in late trading on Wednesday, Xinhua reported.

The dollar index, which measures the greenback against six major peers, rose 0.25 per cent to 99.165 at 3 pm (1900 GMT).

In late New York trading, the euro decreased to US$1.1651 from US$1.1674 in the previous session,  and the British pound declined to US$1.3592 from US$1.3646 in the previous session.

The US dollar bought 159.40 Japanese yen, higher than 159.22 Japanese yen of the previous session. The US dollar increased to 0.8055 Swiss francs from 0.8020 Swiss francs, and rose to 1.3878 Canadian dollars from 1.3830 Canadian dollars. The US dollar climbed to 9.5329 Swedish kronor from 9.4659 Swedish kronor.
