Weapons Stolen From High-security Indian Military Camp

HYDERABAD, Sept 1 (NNN) -- A cache of weapons, including four AK-47s and six pistols, was stolen from a high-security Indian military camp in Secunderabad, a city adjoining Hyderabad in Telangana, on Sunday.

According to a report on the Deccan Chronicle's website on Tuesday, the theft came to light after officials noticed that the weapons were missing from the Madras Regiment facility.

Also missing was a large quantity of ammunition, according to a police complaint.

According to the report, investigators are examining all possible angles, including how the suspected thieves managed to enter the well-guarded facility, break open the lock and gain access to the weapons storage room.

"Officials are also looking into the possibility of insider involvement in the case,” according to the report.
