Cargill Invests USD 130 Million To Expand Poultry Operations in Asia, To Support Rising Global Protein Demand

SINGAPORE, Sept 29 (Bernama) -- As global protein demand and consumer appetite for high-quality cooked poultry products continues to accelerate, Cargill is investing over USD 130 million over next two years to expand its poultry operations across Asia. The investment encompasses capacity and efficiency enhancements across Cargill’s entire poultry network in Thailand and the Philippines and will help strengthen supply chain resilience, enhance food safety, quality and innovation for its foodservice and retail customers globally.

A key component of the investment is the deployment of advanced technologies to optimize both production processes and cost, besides expanding the production capacity in Thailand. The initiative includes a new automated cooked chicken production line at Cargill’s poultry processing plant in Saraburi, expected to be completed in 2028. Over next two years, the company will be making significant technological upgrades, incorporating state-of-the-art machinery and integrating Artificial Intelligence (AI) into data processing to drive faster, more accurate decision-making. Furthermore, these technological advancements will elevate the efficacy of the company's rigorous food quality and safety management systems.
