Magnitude 6.6 Earthquake Strikes Sarangani, Philippines

KUALA LUMPUR, June 26 (NNN) -- A magnitude 6.6 earthquake jolted the municipility of Sarangani, in the Philippines’ Davao Occidental at 7.34 pm Friday (June 26), according to the Philippine News Agency (PNA) on its Facebook.

PNA, citing the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs), said the quake's epicentre was at 90 kilometres southwest of Balut Island at a depth of 10 km.

“Aftershocks are expected but Phivolcs says there is no tsunami threat from the earthquake,” PNA posted.
